History 2021-2022

The team was founded in 1997. They joined the QMJHL as the League's 15th team.

François BouchardUnder head coach Richard Martel, the franchise won two conference championships (2000-01 and 2002-03) and a regular season crown in 2002-03 after winning 50 games.

 In 2006-07, with 125 points, François Bouchard won the QMJHL scoring title; he was the second player of the Drakkar to finish first in the race for the Jean-Béliveau Trophy, after Joël Perrault (116 points | 2002-03). Yanick LehouxBut Yanick Lehoux is always the team's  recordman with his 135 points totalized during the 2000-01 regular season.

During the 2013-14 regular season, the Drakkar signed off its 2nd League championship with head coach Eric Veilleux. In the playoffs, the team reached the President Cup Final twice, however, the Drakkar lost to Halifax (2013) and Val-d'Or (2014).
